The Cumberland County Faith Based Initiative (CCFBI) came about as a result of discussions and expressed needs that originated in the Cumberland Community Collaborative (CCC) and the Cumberland County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC).

To fulfill the missions of those two organizations, members began to realize a need to link human service organizations (mental health, school system, hospital, department of social services, law enforcement, etc.) with faith based organizations (churches, mosques, synagogues, etc.) in order to better serve individuals and families within the catchment area (Cumberland County and Ft. Bragg).

To meet this need CCC and JCPC formed the CCFBI to plan, develop and organize this effort. Interested members of CCC, JCPC, and other interested parties in the community formed the CCFBI. The objective of CCFBI has been to develop a means for human service organizations and faith based organizations to communicate, consult, and make referrals to each other based on the needs of the people they serve.

This web site was developed as a way for those organizations to network together, while at the same time offering residents and other interested parties information about the CCFBI and it’s member organizations.
